Plateau Question!
Hey Bro! :-)
I started plateauing out around 18 months out from RNY surgery. This was when I found the "honey moon" was coming to an end with my weightloss. (Some people are different & can still drop weight relatively easily up to 24 months sometimes longer I heard.)
I did 14 months drop 12 pounds QUICK due to a hernia surgery & recovery. But have put on around 8 of it. I think my body didn't like being that thin (155) I now weight 162.5 & have stayed at this weight for almost the full 2 years out.
Try to change your routine a little with excersise & eating.. focus on your protein as much as possible (I found it helped jump start my weightloss again) and change your routine up in your excersise program. (I started off at CURVES and now go to a regular Gym... BIG DIFFERENCE)
You'll find that you may not lose as much weight but working with strength training/weights for your muscles & cardio will improve your muscles & tone up your body. I still weigh the same... but my physical appearance looks sooo much better.
I still can't believe I LOVE going to the GYM... I traded one addiction food for a healthier one.. excercise... I love how I feel after a work out...strong & in control of my body.. plus it really helps clear my mind of the cobwebs..
I hope you get a few more responses to your question. Sometimes we can't go by the scale but by how we feel & celebrate where we've come from in our WLS journey. I'd love to get down to 150 but I don't think my body would like it.. & when I did weigh 155 everyone said (including my PCP) that I looked "sickly" soooo... I'll take where I'm at in my journey. I'm grateful and blessed by God for having a 2nd chance at a heatlhy life style.
Regards,
Mickey
Congrats on getting this far. I'm just about 17 months out I have just started to plateau, but, I am below my goal weight so it's not bothering me much. . I've heard you should go "back to basic's". If you'd like, send me your email address and I'll send you the "Plateau Breaker" as for some reason I can't get it to copy & paste.
Best Wishes!!!
Stacy
