hi bev i had just looked at your photos your grand kids are so cute!! i also seen your progress you are doing great !  i am doing the 1000 cal diet and i blew it the other day at our picnic at work. i was not happy after the fact ,but i went right back the next day. did you have any problem following the diet?  arubabird

Hi Arubabird, I follow my diet because there is a large fear factor.  Because I have been dieting all my adult life I am scared to death and this has GOT TO WORK.  At 281 lbs. (and I know I got as close as 295 lbs.)  I was experiencing such arthritis pain in my knees that I was becoming immobile.  I could see the writing on the wall that before long I would be in one of those scooters because I couldn't walk anymore.  Now at 63 lbs lost I can walk for at least 3 miles without discomfort.  I don't have problems sleeping at night because my knees hurt so bad.    I don't take any more medications for diabetes, high blood pressure or high cholesterol.  It is great.  I just can't go back to that!  While visiting my grandkids we brought them one of those playground sets with the climbing wall, slide and swings.  I actually went down the slide!!!  It tickled my grandson Wyatt so much.  I want to continue to do those kind of things with my grandkids. We are all human and we are going to make mistakes.  The important thing is to pick ourselves up and start again.  I'm proud of you that you got right back on track.  I have been starting to think of food as the enemy and it is not going to control my life any longer.  I will control the food.  With a lot of the food that I look at that I would want to eat I'm able now to say that it just isn't worth it.  What is worth it is that yesterday I got into a size 18 pair of Lee jeans. Yay!  Keep up the good work.  You can do the 1,000 calorie diet.  Wow, you have a lot of kids grandkids.  That's great.  I have one son but he's doing pretty good giving my grandkids.  I love poker slots - nice royal flush!  I can't wait until we have enough saved to do another cruise.  We've done Alaska, the Mexican Riviera (Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas) and Grand Cayman Island/Playa del Carmen,Mexico.  In Sept. we are going to my husband's naval reunion in San Francisco. hi bev CONGRADULATIONS ON GETTING IN TO AN 18 !!! that is a great feeling.  i am doing better with the 1000 cal diet.. i went for my sleep study appt yesterday and i had to get on the scale and according to that i am down another 4 lbs so a total of 9 lbs . i was reading your menu and the egg beater with the veggies and cheese sounds so good! did you injoy the cruise to alaska? i would like to go there someday. we have done to cruise 1 was a 4 day and the other was a 7 day . we go to aruba every year we love it there. we'll be going in march this year we are taking my daughter and her dh this year . well i am sure you are looking forward to your trip,how long are you going for? i to would go down the slide with the kids, but last time i didn't go down smoothly my hips got a bit wider so that was the end of that. but those days will be here again. i see your from shelton, i  use to live in stratford up until 8 years ago. well gotta go get ready for work have a nice day teresa
