Thursday Food Log
Yay Tammy. I thought no one would ever join me. Your breakfast sounded delicious. I'm already taking a half hour in the morning to exercise before work so I don't want to give up any more sleep to make breakfast. I either eat cottage cheese or microwave some turkey bacon at work. Your lunch sounds pretty good too. I've been really surpised by what foods give me trouble and what don't. Like I thought salad would be hard, but it's not. Chicken gives me a little trouble but fish and hamburger go down fine.
Trying is the best thing you do. And yes there's always hope.

Hi, My name is Holly and I read your menu everyday and I was just wondering if you are losing weight. It looks like a menu that I could follow. It looks like I could definitely lose following it. I have been in a plateau for about 6 months now. I have not lost or gained, I just stay the same. I have lost 117lbs so far, I have about 90lbs to go and it is not going down at all. I just need to jump start the weight loss. Thanks for listening. Holly
Hi Holly,
I was banded on May 21 and I have lost 36.5 lbs in less than 3 months. So I think I'm doing OK. I tend to lose then stay the same a few weeks and then lose again. I really like making my menu for the day but sometimes "stuff" happens and it's not always what I end up eating. One thing is for sure - I no longer eat potatoes, bread, pasta, rice, cake, cookies, etc. - period. The only thing I really miss is pasta. I do allow myself to have breaded shrimp, fish, etc. but that's it. But I think you really have to identify your trigger foods - those foods that once you start to eat you lose control.
You have done phenomenal - 117 lbs lost. And maintaining is a challenge too since before the band I know I would have "fallen off the wagon" and gained it back and then some. It seems to have at least kept you from gaining. I read on the other boards about kickstarting your loss again by doing full liquids for a week. But I don't know if I could take the hunger. Solid protein keeps me full.
I read the menus posted on the Over Fifty Forum (because I am ) because I tend to play it safe and get in a rut with my food choices. I would like to experiment a little. Now and then I think, wow, that sounds yummy or I would have never thought of that.
I work full-time so sometimes I am at the mercy of my schedule with how I eat. So things work better if I plan. Please join me every day and map out your eating for the day.
Good Luck,
Bev
Thank you for writing to me. I love your menus and have started to follow them. I might add fruit and veggies. I have got to get a lot more water in. Thank you so much. You are doing great. I look for your menu almost every day. Thanks for posting it. It helps and it gives me ideas on what to eat and to have different variety. I hope that you get to your goal and thank you again.
