It all started the day before yesterday...

I started feeling out of sorts, no energy, just plain crappy... Yesterday was worse, by 11 am I had 100.9 fever, severe chills, almost passed out 2-3 times. It hit me like a ton of bricks! SO I called my doc. was told to come in immediately. I found out I was severely dehydrated...which floored me because I have been steadily increasing my fluids so that I am up to 60 oz a day! BUT the doc said with this hot spell and the condition of my healing body...this sometimes happens. I am only 13 days out. They gave me an IV and I feel considerably better, still not great though. SO the AC is on today and I am laying low and sipping sipping sipping... Stay cool and moist! Hugs, Lisa

Sometimes a low grade fever means your pulse oxygen levels are too low, also.  If they sent you home with one of those breathing units, use it.  You need to be able to get more oxygen into your lungs.  While I was in the hospital after surgery, I had a fever and that's what they said it was from.  They gave me oxygen and made me breathe, breathe, breathe into that hand held unit.  It helped and my fever went down and my pulse ox levels went up. Rest, sip as much as you can...and feel better.   Be sure you walk, too.  It's important for your healing! Paula
