Update on lllstric (Laura)
Hi Laura,
I"m so sorry that you've had complications but it sounds like things are on the upswing now. I've heard that everyone goes through feelings of misgivings after surgery especially since it wasn't 100% smooth. Just take it one day at a time and try to refocus on why you did this in the first place. Remember we're here for you.

THANK YOU EVERYBODY...for your kind words, support, inspiration..........it was SO NICE being home over the weekend....first night was the hardest because I had all of those fresh nasty memories of the hospital and it was ALL I could think about........I spent some time outside....walked a bit each day and am desperately trying to find a protein drink that doesn't seem completely disgusting to me.....I was having a few good moments with major bouts of crappiness......but it IS getting better.....and the playing field is even-ing out a bit more.....poor hubby went out and bought me I think EVERY flavor that crystal light has out...just because I get sick of the flavor so quickly...I go back to dr. Thursday......and am planning to go to the picnic...actually we're camping.....I will have to bring a chair to sleep in because there is NO WAY I will be able to get up off the ground!! ANYWAY...thank you to everybody and THANK GOD I AM HOME!!!!...........................................................................BOB....you are a true friend..thank you so much for being there for me....I do not know what I would have done without you on the other end of that phone when I was doing so badly.......you may actually 'live' in Alaska....but my friend....you are also here in CT....right here in my heart!!!!!
WE ARE PUT ON THIS EARTH NOT TO SEE THROUGH EACH OTHER...BUT TO SEE EACH OTHER THROUGH
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one
hand, mudslide in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and
screaming ! HOT DAMN.....WHAT A RIDE!!
BECOME THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE
Hey Laura! I'm glad you're feeling better. I really wish I could have done more for you. But just because you're home now doesn't get me off the "Angel Hook." If you have questions or need anything, please don't hesitate to text me or email me. I'll do what ever I can to help out.
As for the protein drink dilemma, welcome to the club sweetie! Am am 14 months out and still haven't found one I really enjoy. I have created a category of protein shakes I call "sucks less than others" from which I buy my supplements. The Body Fortress Whey Protein they sell at WalMart is what I'm using now. I actually mix it with fat free milk to get a little extra protein, but you won't want to try that for a while yet. I was lactose intolerant for about four months after surgery. You've got the right idea; just buy sample packs or small quantity until you find something you can tolerate.
Please keep in touch!
