Hi Sarah,
Thanks for your concern. I see Dr A in a few weeks (have to get blood work done first) and we spent over 4 hours in DMV yesterday....yes...FOUR hours. The lines were outrageous and the system there is not organized at all. Worst state system I've seen. I've lived in a lot of states and it was never like this.
Where we had to wait for our licences the initial line was 2 1/2 hrs long, then you got up to the desk and paid and handed in your form, you then had to sit down for about a half an hour and wait for an inspector to give us an eye test...we had to sit down again for another hour or so and wait for that paperwork to make its way back to the desk so that we could pay another fee and sign a form and have our pix taken. ARGGGHHHH All the while, we were watching the number board because we had a number for the registration part to register the two cars.
Bob kept going over to other people waiting and exchanging his number for their's. It made their wait shorter and gave us more time at the license part.
The kids were with us and they were excellent. Thank god I had change so that they could get something to drink and snack on. They met friends of other people there and kept busy. We hadn't had lunch and by the time we got out after 4pm, we were all spent and starved.
I wish Governor Rell would go and stand in line like we had to. It was totally ridiculous.
Now we won't have to do it again...and...I love my pix. A lot differnt from the fat one I handed in!

It WAS the one in Enfield!!! Should have taken the trip to Wethersfield or New Britain, even.
Anyways, it's done with...kids rewarded for their good behavior today! Mom's beat!

That's exactly how it's been for years - they need some process improvements for sure! When you have to go for your renewal go to the AAA office - I go to the one on Elm St. in Enfield and I've never waited in a line.............
They really need to get a clue at that place - sorry your family had such a bad experience!
Hi Tammy,
Yes, we will go to AAA from now on for renewals. We just had to endure the pain and suffering that the DMV brings for the initial stuff! They definately need an efficiency expert to come in there and show them how to do things better. Way too many hands on one form when one person should be able to punch out the entire process in one fell swoop. But, of course, that'd be way too easy for them. The state has to do it the hard, antiquated way, for sure!
Hope you're well!
I'm loving it up here!
