Hi There,    I was at the doctors office the other day to get my first fill. We started chatting the 3 or 4 women in the waiting room and hair loss came up. One woman said beta carotene helps, has anyone else heard of that or have any suggestions. i would like to start now so I don't have the thinning getting out of control.  Thanks for your help MawMaw!!

I've heard shampoos containing biotin are good for hair loss. Cindy

Generally lap banded WLS doesn't cause hair loss - of course there are exceptions to every situation - but the hair loss usually occurs for RNY patients after about 6 months and then it grows back okay - some people do experience hair loss after surgery in general - but because lap band surgery doesn't cause absorbtion issues, as long as you are getting in your protein and vitamins it most likely shouldn't be an issue..........I never had any hair loss issues -two of my friends had the bypass - one had hair issues that resolved and the other didn't have any issues at all........Good luck with your first fill!
Warm Regards - Tammy -
