Hi Sarah, I feel for you.  I was on full liquids for four weeks and we weren't allowed oatmeal or anything like that.  The one thing I found out though was that I really had to evaluate whether I was actually hungry or just felt I needed to eat something.  Usually, if I filled up with water or found something else to do and took my mind off it, it wasn't actually hunger.  I could have yogurt and those sf, ff fudgicles and that was a good thing too.  And cream soups that had been made with milk and strained. I hope you feel satisfied soon.  I'm on mushies now and even that is hard to stay satisfied on.  I think it's because my stoma is wide open.  Hopefully, it will be better after my first fill. It takes a lot of will power so hang in there.  I'm pulling for you. Bev

Try to stay patient with it.  If the protein is getting to you, your tongue (I know it sounds gross) may be coated with it.  Buy a tongue scrapper at the pharmacy or Walmart and scrape it off.  It usually happens around 3 weeks out with pure protein going in and when you're in total ketosis stage (total  fat burning mode) When you're getting hungry for something, use distraction methods to get you out of it.  Leave the kitchen. Stay out of it unless it's time for a protein drink. Take walks (I know it's hot, but walk up and down your stairs in the house if need be)...put an elastic band around your wrist and when you're hungry, snap it really hard.  The hurt will distract you from being hungry.  Do it until the feeling of hunger subsides.  Read, shut off the tv...too many food commercials.  When I was on my full liquid stage post op, I had to look away and mute the commercials they drove me so nuts. Soft food will come...be patient! The end result will make it all worth these stages now that seems so endless.  You'll look back and say it wasn't so hard! paula

Hi! Having been in your shoes, all I can say is stay strong! For a change of pace, I went to a chinese take out and ordered won ton soup without the won ton's. It tasted sooo good!! I am sure you know the other tricks - the sugar free popcicles and I was allowed Isopure clear fruit drinks which helped a lot.  My stage after clear liquids was all liquids when I was able to drink my favorite protein shakes and eat healthy choice cream soups that were strained. I thought I was in heaven. I wasn't able to have soft foods for 3 weeks and eggs never tasted better!! Good luck and you are almost there - I know you will get through it!! Stay Strong! Nancy K

I know that almost all doctors say that scrambled eggs are a good soft food but honestly I have a hard time with them if they are not perfectly prepared.  The mushie foods I found went down easiest were the noodless lasagna - (ricotta, sauce and little mozerella) and refried beans with a little melted shredded cheese - make sure if you do have the tuna that you really grind it up to be like baby food (stage 1) consistency - take is slow and small at first - the band is unpredictable and you have no idea how tight or loss you are until you start to eat!  Good luck!
Warm Regards - Tammy -
