Hello All, For those of you who have had RNY surgery and are more than a year out...

Has anyone tried to "detox".  As ya'll know we don't go as regularly as before surgery.  Sometimes it's 2-4 days before I have a movement.  I do eat fiber, stool softners the whole works to get the plumbing moving.  :)  Also ex-lax if it gets bad.   Sometimes I feel sooo sick because I know it's backed up & just won't happen. Looking to see if anyone has detoxed and if it affected you physically or irratated your pouch...or side affects? Thanks gang, Mickey

I am not a medical professional... so note that. But what worked  for me (even early out) are the following: Regular cardio exercise (Leslie Sansone is great!) Veggie juicing... (not V-8!), real veggies in a juicer. Lots of greens with a carrot and apple to sweeten it. Worked for me right off the bat. OH.. and good hydration with water.

I agree with Towanda.  With regular exercise and lots of good veggies and fruit, you should be golden.  I had problems early on... now... at least once a day.  I do use a green tea extract from Herbasway.  I was drinking a lot of crystal light and that was bothering my tummy.  the Herbasway is sugar free, calorie free and caffeen free.  It is also loaded with antioxidants if that is what you are looking for.  Make sure you are getting in all your fluids too... that will keep you from going.

Thanks ladies for your input, I greatly appreciate it. I exercise 5-6 days a week 30-40 min cardio & 25 min strength training. Fluids are pretty good I'm pretty much vegetarian.  Eat very little red meat and practically live off of fruits & veggies - veggie burgers.  (although I'm a big fan of cheese.) I'm going to incorporate a few of your suggestions & see if the earth will move for me..... (LOL) Take care & thanks again, Mickey
