Dr. Neil Floch is my surgeon. He did my RNY 3 yrs ago this July 7th. I may be at the seminar... If work permits. I did not smoke prior to surgery. Not sure of that answer. Towanda

Good luck. The lapband has as much success as the RNY. It all takes work... but doable. T.

I had lap band surgery done by Dr. Ehrlich - I can't say enough great things about the office! I don't smoke so I can't help you with that. Good luck! Nancy K

Hi- Dr. Ehrlich is my guy- he's fabulous!  Of course, I have only seen Drs. Floch in passing and I've heard amazing things about them as well, but can't speak first hand.  Dr. Ehrlich is so caring and compassionate towards his patients.  I'm coming up on my first anniversary on 7/11 and can't wait to see him.  I have  been at a few pre-op seminars recently but they're at the Trumbull Marriott since that is about 5 minutes from my house.  I have a feeling that you will really like FCB! For the smoking, I didn't have to cross that off my list, but I would imagine that they will tell you that the sooner you can quit the better off you'll be.  Baby steps with that, but it's something that should be done for your health!

I'm using Dr. Tishler at Hartford Hospital.  I have never smoked, but I can tell you that during the initial seminar he told everyone that you had to quit smoking prior to surgery, that he could not operate on anyone who smoked.
