Hi,    I am post op lap band surgery 6 days now.  I am a wreck emotionally. I can;t  sleep, eat, or concentrate on anything. I want to reverse this already. This is not for me. I'm nauseous all the time. Uncomfortable. I've heard so many stories reguarding fills too tight. You have to worry about when to drink, not to drink, what food will get stuck. Too much worrying. My own fault didn't research enough. Knew about intake and limitation , but not how I would feel. What a loser. So disappointed in my self. NO socialazation this week not due to lack of support, but rather not being out to enjoy meals, or cooking. I know that things get better, but I just don't want to live like this. Does anyone know how long after intial placement a reversal can be done?, and dos insurance cover?                                                       Thanks for listening ljn1074

I am so sorry you are having such a difficult time. Try and give yourself a.little more time to adjust to things. You have just been through surgery and a major change in how you can now eat. Alot of people get anxious and worry  and wonder did they do the right thing. As you feel better, and start to see the numbers on the scale go down you will feel better about your decision.  It has only been six days, don't be so hard on yourself. Hang in there. Sher

I am sorry to hear that you are going through a difficult time. Everything will be fine. Since you just had surgery on your stomach it could be normal to feel that way. Just remember you are trying to heal yourself. Take it easy. One sip at a time. Take baby steps. Don't try to conquere Rome in a day. Is there any support groups you can go to. I know They are having one tonight at middlesex hospital with post ops and pre-ops. Maybe you can get there if someone can drive you. Everyone is really supportive and there are probably going to be people there that will be have been through what you are going through now. Try to find someone you can talk to I am sure it will help. Or keep posting. I am sorry I am not much of a help to you right now since I am not on the losing side till Wed. I wish you all the best. Think postiviley today Have a great day!

Don't rush into anything - It takes time to adjust to the band.  I am a year out and believe me there have been times that I thoough that I wanted the band out. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time.  I've heard the more stressed out you are the tighter the band can be in some people.  Try to relax and concentrate on healing if you can.  You couldn't have known you would feel so bad after surgery so don't get down on yourself for that.  Give the band some time to do it's thing since it's only been 6 days.  Believe it or not there are some of us who are 3 months out (myself included) and still don't have any restriction.  This band affects so many people in so many different ways.  No one person's experience is the same as the next.
