No clue, like the previous post, I used Dr. Tishler out of HH.  He is excellent and my surgery was great, well as great as surgery can be.  You should look into Dr. Tishler if your insurance allows.

Hi, I had a gastric bypass at St. Mary's. Dr. Richi was my surgeon.  Compassionate, concerned, EXPERIENCED!!! He has a vast surgical back ground and is very talented and well known.  If you get a chance, pick up Connecticut Magazines Top Doc issue. He is the primo Top Doc surgically in Connecticut.  Dr. Richi may do 1-2 bypass' a week. He is purly into the health and well being of the patient and could care less about  stacking patients in for the almighty dollar!!. You would not be disappointed if you chose him.  Good luck

Hey there JCA! I had Dr Richi do my surgery November 2006--and I had a wonderful experience.  He is the best!  My case was harder than most as I had attepted this surgery before--with another MD in Hartford and he botched things up SO bad--near death experience for me.  So I was very hesitant but when I went to see him for a hernia repair, he was so up front, no nonsense--asked for the op reports from the past mess and we went ahead and did the RNY 6 months later.  His office staff are all great and patient with any questions at any time.  I have heard through the grapevine that Dr Richi "fixes' alot of the "mistakes" that other docs have made.  He is very much to the point--don't expect the "nice guy" approach.  If that's what you need, he won't be for you.  For me, I'd rather know the facts out and out and he was great.  Good Luck with whatever you choose!
