Hi all - new to this forum although I have participated on other sites.  Wanted to introduce myself and find out if there are others on this forum that have the lap band and how they have succeeded.  I am 32 yo. been heavy most of my adult life although was at one time athletic.  I am looking forward to my lap band surgery later this month but as the day approaches I am starting to get nervous.  I trust that this is normal and that the benefits far outweigh the risks.  Would love to hear from anyone who has had the band or other wls.

Lap Band on 05/21/07 with
You will love your decision to have lap band.  I was banded on May 21, 2007.  Everyone gets nervous any time they go under anesthesia.  But in this case you are signing on for a whole lifestyle change.  I have no reqrets.  I am on my way to healthy and happy and you will be too. Welcome, Congratulations and Good Luck.  Let us know when your date is so we can cheer you on. Bev

Howdy.  I have Dr. Tishler.  He's awesome.  I am going in on July 16th (happy birthday to me!)for bypass.  I get to do the 14 day liquid diet.  Ohhh...lucky me!

Hi I'm Joanneg, 56, on 4/30/07 I had a lapband put in and 2 hernias taken out. Dr Tishler and his staff is wonderful and so are the folks at hartford hospital Bliss 8 ( where you probably will be...they are very caring and supportive.  I also go to the support meetings and would love to meet you. I usually sit on the left side, end of middle rows.. I hope to see you there.

Hi  - yes i have been to the last 4 support group meetings and ironically i sit in the same area as you.  we probably have seen each other.  I won't be going this month as my surgery is the following day.  A question about how the scheduling went for you.  What time did the hospital call you the night before?  What time did you have to show up.  I need to schedule day care etc for my son so my wife can take me.
