Hi T, Not sure if you remember me, but we met at Norwalk Hospital a few months ago.  Anyway, Hi again.  I do have Healthnet and have had it since before surgery.  Depending on the plan you are enrolled it makes the difference.  I have a platinum advantage plan and need no referrals.  I have never had denials or issues with this insurance company and have been to many, many specialists in the last 8 months because I have a rare autoimmune disease.  I may just be one of the lucky ones, but have absolutely no complaints about their service

Thanks Tee... I will be coming to the support group tomorrow night at Norwalk Hospital. Need additional support, so am going to check out the meeting tomorrow night. I do remember you! I was looking at HeathNet's site today and saw the platinum advantage option. T.

Do you also have the platinum plan? We may be changing insurance and I need to make some decisions. Always good to get realistic info from real people rather than from insurance agents.

I too, have Health Net Platinum Advantage. Have not had any problems, got rapid approval for my RNY surgery too. I would check out about continued coverage for issues related to your past rny surgery to be sure they will cover this. Just a thought since it sounds like you are planning to change insurance companies. I don't know their policies on this issue.  But myself having had them before and after surgery have not had any problems with covering visits and labs. Sher

Thanks. We have the option in the future to switch to my husband's insurance and wanted to compare other's experiences. We now have Anthem BCBS, which is a good plan. Sounds like the Platinum Advantage plan is the way to go with HealthNet.

I had it before surgery and I still have it now.  But I'm not sure what you're looking for? Currently they are fine but then so am I so if something happens then I guess we'll see what they do.  Just like any other insurance company. I know I'm not much help but..... Koukla 338/177
