Dr. Nadzam and VSG

Hello to All. I was wondering if anyone had gotten the vertical sleeve with Dr. Nadzam and if so how they felt? I am in the middle of my appeal with Anthem for the sleeve so hopefully it will end soon. Thanks...........Marc

I would advise to watch him-he had me all set to do the VSD, then changed it to band when applying to insurance-when I asked him why he mumbled something about a law suit.  Furthermore I was approved for the band by anthem without a hitch-had all my pre-op stuff done, was scheduled-went for all my bloodwork,etc, then went up to his office for my final visit and he cancelled my surgery-this was in December-i have yet to get a good reason from him-it cost me several hundred dollars in co-pays for all the blood work, etc, and on top of it I had to get my attorney to write him a letter in order to get my records-he is scared of something, and I wouldn;trust him.  Last fall when I was talking to him about the VSD he had done only one.

Thanks for the info. I have been looking into this since last fall as well and as soon as we got the denial they told me to get the band too. I refuse, wouldn't do the band unless it was the only choice. I did hear that Dr. Tischler in hartford was doing the VSG now and that he is a very competent Doc, so I am looking into that option, also Dr. Bell in Yale is another option. I am using dr tishler and love him so far. he has been nothing but honest with me and his staff is absolutly awesome.
