Just was wondering if anyone had a their Endoscopy done by Dr. Barba, and if so what do I have to look forward to on Friday. I am a little nervous not knowing what to expect. I would appreciate any help or suggestions. KathiM

Hi Kathi - The endoscopy is a very easy procedure - you will just be put under for a little while and when you wake up you won't believe it was already done and over! You may be a little tired - you might want to plan on going home and taking a nap. Your throat may be a little irritated but it will pass. The most nerve wracking thing is the anticipation of the procedure -the hardest part for me was getting the iv line started! Make sure you drink plenty water the day before so your veins are nice and hydrated for Friday. You can put your mind at ease, it really is a simple procedure and there is no pain involved. Best Regards, Tammy

Hi Kathi, I had Dr. Barba. He is great! Like Tammy said, The proceduer is really nothing. You won't even realize it is all done. Its normal to be nervous. We all were. No matter what everyone tells you, the nervousness is still there. So all I will say is, relax, take a deep breath and you will go to sleep and when you wake up it will be done. In a matter of minuets. Good Luck!! You will be one step closer! Hugs, Sarah

When I had my endo, I brought some sugar free extra strenghth Cepacol cough drops with me for afterwards. They really soothed my throat.
