Anticipation......is making me wait!
Michele:
Cleansing breath...
This can be a difficult time ... the waiting.
Try to take this time to continue your comittment to your getting healthy.
Put out the INTENT that you are on the right track... no matter what the outcome is with insurance.
Tell your body you will not give up.
And do one nice thing for yourself each day... while you are waiting.
I had a long wait to get to my surgery.
It took about a year before I finally got approval and found the right surgeon for me.
Keep your focus on positive thoughts to help your stress levels stay low.
You are meant to be healthy.
That is your birthright.
Keep us in the loop.

I guess the same way I got through pregnancy anticipating the birth of my daughter; when I realized it was all I could think about and that the rest of my life was being compromised, I moved toward "balance" - I took care of the pregnancy while at the same time taking care of the rest of my life. Get your 'ducks in a row' - do all your research, homework, prepare your family and your home for post-surgery life, but in the meantime, take care of you! Start NOW to incorporate the behavioral change that you must adopt in order to be successful - carve out time for exercise, start experimenting with cooking healthy meals, enjoy some time for self-reflection on all those things you will be able to do when you lose the weight, make a list of the top 100 goals you will have for yourself in a new, healthy body. Doing these things pre-surgery will take some time and energy away from obssessing about the surgery. Good luck, Michele! M.
Hi Michele,
Like Towanda said...Breathe! Take lots of walks...this is a great time to get your body in shape for surgery. Get to Northwest Park and walk the trails...fast! Well, as best as you can do it!
It'll happen...give it up to God or a higher power as a force larger than you and it'll all fall into place.
Hey, I'm moving from Westerly, RI to Windsor on June 15th! Right near Northwest Park off of Lang Rd. We can meet to walk, if you'd like. I'll need new friends and walking friends for sure in a town where I only know my husband's sisters and MIL!
Write me at [email protected] if you have any issues you'd like to talk about.

Well, I deep cleaned a lot and took on organizing closets etc. I did this because I knew I wouldn't feel so hot for a while after surgery and I wouldn't have to worry about the house too much for a while. I also read the rny forum here at OH daily to learn as much as I could about what it was like after surgery so I would know what to expect.
It is really hard to wait no matter what you do though, I felt like my life was on hold all the years I was fat and that somehow my life would start again once I had the surgery, I could not wait!
Being that I am a tad left of center, I called the insurance company incessantly. I also went to my insurance manual and looked at the criteria for WLS and constantly reassured myself that I meet all criteria. Odd? Yes. But it worked for me.
I think everyone of us on this board can understand how you feel. Keep your chin up. You will find out soon enough. The time really does go by quick.
Good luck and happy waiting.
