LAP-BAND ?

Hubby is having lap-band on 05-15 (next Wed). How long did you need someone to stay home with you to help you out? When were you cleared for driving? I know each Dr. is different, I'm just trying to get personal views from "banders" themselves, as each individual is different, and those who know best are those who've had the surgery. Most Dr's perform them, they have't had them... I had GB over a year ago and I needed help for almost 3 weeks, and couldnt -didn't get cleared to drive until 4th week out. Hi Stacy, I have a Lap Band and if I remember correctly I couldn't drive until after my first check up after surgery. I believe it was 10 days after surgery. Everyone is different as far as recovery goes but the only reason I needed anyone with me was to take me places. I was fine alone after 2 days but I also didn't need any pain medication. If I remember correctly - I think I was driving one week out (after my check up with the surgeon). Someone stayed home with me for about 3 days - after that I was fine on my own.......... Good luck to your husband!
