Sitting on the loser's bench now.
Hello all!!!
First I would like to thank you all for being so supportive and kind during this whole ordeal. Second, I would like to tell you all that we must really stress the issue of FARTING to the newbies. The gas pains were killing me last night.
I had the surgery done on May 1, I got out of New Britain General today at 9am. I really had a "no frills" time of it. It was really very textbook.
Thanks so much for the prayers and well wishes. They really came through for me.
I am still a little "stupid' from surgery so I will cut it short here, but soon I will post my experiences....
Love to all,
sue
Sue:
It's one day at a time recovering from surgery.
Good news is... it does get better an itty bit each day.
The first month (for me) was the hardest... but very doable.
Take your time... be patient with your body.
Begin to move about as much as your surgeon suggests.
As for the gas... ah yes... it was the hardest part for me post op.
Did lots of "labor" breathing.
And... believe it or not... foot rubs.
Foot rubs helped me immeasurably with the gas.
Foot reflexology ... you know?
1. Foot rubs relax us.
2. There are points on the foot that relate to diff parts of the body.
So... tell your caretakers... you need daily foot rubs!
Good luck with your continuing journey to health!
