Hi! Does anyone know if you can take in too much protein in a day? I start my liquid diet tomorrow and my surgery is in a week. The 3 supplements I have to take per day are almost 50 grams of protein alone. If I had a Isopure drink that is 40 grams, will I be over the top? Thanks!

Congrats on your upcoming surgery Leslie! Hasn't your dr. or your nutritionist given you guidelines on how much protein to have? Dr A. recommends at least 60 for women and 70 for men post-op. Also, he has told me that our bodies only absorb 20 grams of protein at a meal so if we take in more it is just wasted. All the best, Carol D.

Hi Leslie, You can't get in "too" much protein in a day, but you can "waste" protein.. Our bodies can't assimilite more than 35gms of protein at one sitting, so, if you use two scoops of Iospure, you're just plain old wasting it. Just use one scoop..that's all you need...save the other for next time. Save your money. Paula
