2 years out!

Hello Everyone, I haven't really posted in ages...between work & life in general I get side tracked...although I do make it a point to "lurk" Went for my 2nd anniversary check up yesterday. Dr. Barba was extremely pleased with everything. I'm a little ticked off with myself I gained 5 pounds since last July. I know it's "only 5 pounds" but still I worked so friggin hard to get to this point with my health & life I don't want to see the scale creep. He said it was pretty normal...& I also started weight lifting/training so it;s more than likely muscle mass I'm building up. (still didn't make me feel better.) At 2 years out & 130 pounds lighter I wouldn't change a thing though..I'd do it all over again if I had to. My health is awesome! This surgery has changed me in so many ways. (all positive) I'm active, healthy, & have energy to spare...can't get any better than that...although I do LOVE to shop for clothes now. tee hee. I did make an appt with the nutritienist just to make sure I'm on target with calories/carbs/fat etc. I still don't "get it" with the numbers game. I don't think I'm getting much in for calories anywhere from 800-1000 on a good day or a little higher on others. I do get all my fluids in. I'm pretty much eating vegetarian. I do eat chicken & a little beef once in a blue moon. Got hooked on veggie burgers. YUMMY. I find I still cannot tolerate certain foods..pork, refined/processed foods, no sugar, rice, pasta, fish, but it's good as carbs/sugar/refined flour those were my addictions prior to surgery so it's good to know my pouch keeps me on the straight & narrow. I find I do get hungry more quickly now...& I'm catching myself "grazing". Even though it's all good stuff...fruit, whole grain crackers, nuts etc...I think that is where my problem is. So hopefully the nutritienist can help. I also find that I'm "crashing" at times like a drop in my sugar or something. Although I did have it tested last time it happened & my sugar was 91 which was good. Hypoglycemic?? It's pretty scary..shakey, sweaty, and boy do I get cranky when it happens. My tummy tuck/lowerbody lift looks amazing. Everything is starting to smooth out. I'm still a little numb in my lower mid-section. The liposcuction in my "back bumper" has also settled in & my back end looks amazing! Smooth with no lumpy bumpy's. My health is good & I feel so amazingly blessed to have been given a 2nd lease on life. Take Care, Mickey

Hi Mickey... Congrats on being 2 years out already! Isn't it just something how our lives have changed??? Don't fret with the small weight gain...it probably is muscle mass now that you're weight lifting. Keep up the good work. Paula
