Does anyone know of a good support group for people who are a few years out. I really need one. I feel I need it now more than in the beggining. Weird huh? Thank you! Maryann 11/12/03

Hi Maryann, I'm not sure if you would travel to Norwalk, but we offer peer-to-peer support groups at Norwalk Hospital. We are all at least a year out and many of us are 2 or more. We meet the first Wednesdays of the month and the third Mondays. 6pm, 1st floor volunteer conference room. The Wednesday group is structured and we discuss specific topics that are organized by our group moderator, Steve Colarossi. He has had extensive training and really is great and makes us feel good about ourselves. The monday meeting is our time to share individual issues. It may concern eating or it could be dealing with emotions. We welcome ANY post op, does not matter who your doctor is. If you want more info, please PM me and I will answer any of your questions. Have a great day Tee

Hi, Maryann. My name is Jana, and I live in Bridgeport. I had RNY 9/2/04. I am really struggling right now, and like you, have been trying to hook up with some support groups that are local. They do have them at St. V's, but I don't know what the schedule is for the next month+. If you are interested, feel free to email me. Perhaps we can be of support to one another. Take care!
