3rd Annual Summer Picnic

Hello Everyone, Well the Gala was a blast last night, we danced the night away and enjoyed everyone's company. It was so great to see everyone again. Debbie and Denise did a great job organizing this. Can't wait for next years event. Well its my turn now, here is the information for our annual summer picnic. Hope to see you all there this year!!!!! COME ONE COME ALL FOR SOME FUN IN THE SUN. IT'S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN. SO JOIN US AT OUR THIRD ANNUAL WLS PICNIC. LET'S ALL GET TOGETHER FOR A GREAT DAY OF FAMILY, FRIENDS AND FUN, FUN, FUN WITH LOTS OF FOOD AND DRINK TOO. THIS FACILITY HAS LARGE PAVILIONS, GRILLS AND A BEAUTIFUL BEACH TO SWIM AT. THERE IS A GREAT TRAIL TO WALK, A NATURE CENTER AND ALSO GRASSY AREAS TO HAVE ACTIVITIES AND RELAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DATE: SATURDAY, AUGUST 11TH PLACE: HAMMONASSET STATE PARK, MADISON CT (PAVILION #3) TIME: 11:00 AM UNTIL 8:00 PM PARKING: $8.00 PER VEHICLE DONATIONS ARE WELCOME The reservations and payment have been made for the Pavilion and we will be close to the parking lot, the beach and the restrooms and the concession stand too. We are all set to get ready for a fantastic day to spend together with our family and friends and share our stories, have fun and relax all together too. I am hoping that we have a great turnout this year. We are going to plan a lot of fun events like last year. We hope everyone will get involved this year. VOLLEYBALL 3 LEGGED RACES SACK RACES EGG TOSS BALLOON TOSS EGG/SPOON RELAY RACE WATERBALLOON TOSS SANDCASTLE CONTEST EXERCISING WITH CLIFF & TOWANDA SWIMMING SOCIALIZING RAFFLE MUSIC This invitation is for pre-op, post-op and anyone who is thinking about surgery, and also to everyone's family, friends and significant others. The more the merrier!!!!!! You should bring all your own supplies, food, drink, etc. Like last year we all brought various things and even shared too. There are (2) pedestal grills to cook on so you can bring charcoal or if you prefer you can bring your own portable if you have one. There are (12) picnic tables in each pavilion and there is even a concession stand in the area too. There are restroom facilities available and parking. Get the word out to everyone and let's make this a great success. This is such a great group of people and we all have so much fun together, Saturday night at the Gala was an example of how much we all enjoy each other. Let's keep this going everyone!!!!! Again all monies made on the raffle will be donated to the Foundation like our Spring Gala, Annual Walk, etc. We want to help in anyway we can. So if you would like to donate prizes, gift cards, baskets etc. it would be greatly appreciated. I will be making a very special gift basket to donate as one of the prizes too. my uncle used to have summer bashes all of the time.....he had a pond so there was alot of swimming...I remember he had this for a contest: He took a whole watermelon.....took a container of squeeze parkay margarine and covered the watermelon....he threw the now greased watermelon into the water and the person who got it out of the water first won a whole silver dollar!!! IT WAS AWESOME!! well..for us countryfolk it was....

Hey there, Sounds hilarioius and fun for the kids to do. I will suggest it and see how it goes. Thanks for the input its greatly appreciated. At my neighborhood block parties we always have watermelon eating contests and distant spitting contests of the pits from the watermelon. This one is a good one too. Thanks. I guess a pie eating contest is out of the question......hmmmmm.....bob for apples....how about a pinata?? lets see....we would have to fill it with boxes of sugar free boxes of jello and chicken wings oh...man...I CANNOT WAIT !!!!
