TT April 23rd
Well, after fighting with CIGNA for years, I've given up and I'll self pay for a TT. Has anyone had any experience with the anchor incision? Doc Thomson said he will cut me hip to hip and centerline up to the breast bone. I have an old gall bladder scar and he felt he could pull it in with an anchor cut.
Wish me luck; I'm very excited to get rid of the excess skin.
Just as an FYI, I'm going to the Yale Medical Group, they are much less expensive than most, they are not in private practice and work for Yale U. I even asked if Dr. Thomson or a resident will perform the surgury, and he said that he does it, with the resident assisting.
Thanks for the well wishes. In my case he is doing the anchor to pull in the scarred skin and cut it off. It gives better definition in the waist and will remove this slight roll I have on my back. I think they do it mostly for paitents with allot of excess skin or for those of us who have old scar tissue. Thanks Sher.
Hi, Paula, congrats on your great success and your upcoming TT - I had the anchor when I had my TT and abdominoplasty about 2 years ago. My scars from previous C-sections (2) and gallbladder surgery were removed and my abdomen has been flat ever since--just now starting to get a little lax despite rigorous and regular exercise, but this is normal. The anchor scar has faded very nicely, you should do well. Good luck! M.
