HI All my name is Julie I am 4 days post op and wow have I had a hard time I had a reaction to anasetia which made me so nauseas and I could not get liquids down until 2 days ago then things where getting better , now as of yesturday I feel like I have this big ball sitting in my chest and it will not move ? I have walked.chewed gas X, followed everything thing I was told too sipping my liquids and boy oh boy this sucker does not want to go away .. Iam told it is normal and I am assuming it is gas but youch ! making it hard to sleep last night does this pass ? ugh! but looking forward to tuesday when I can add the protien shakes as this broth thou soothing is a bit boring ... just hoping this ball passes
Hi Julie. Were you banded or did you have RNY? I had my band surgery last Tuesday (the 20th) and also have the same gas pains. It hurts quite a bit when I lie down, but I've found that lying on my stomach actually helps. It doesn't hurt my incisions at all. Try that and see if it helps. I am also looking forward to adding protein shakes and milk on Tuesday. At least that will be a little variety. Let us know how everything's going.
Hi Joanne,
I was banded on the 20th too well needless to say still have the ball in my chest but my blood sugar went low last night so I had to treat it with regular popsicles seemed ok but I over did it I am finding my mornings to be horrible right now Nausea so so bad ... but just trying to take it a day at a time .. hope all is going well with you thanks for the tip .. I will try the stomatch thing .
Hey Joanne-
I finally found someone else from stamford!! YAY!! Just wanted to say hi I also used Dr. Floch and he really is an amazing surgeon, I am actually 14 months post op , hit goal at 9 months (lost 140) pounds, and just had my plastics 3 weeks ago! I know pretty crazy, but I just wanted to say hi and to tell you that Dr floch is so awesome! I'm actually going to be speaking at one of the seminars this month, at the Italian Center.
talk soon

Hey Toni-
Another Stamfordite! Not too many of us it seems. I absolutely love Dr. Floch and don't think I could have had a better surgeon. He made me so comfortable with him the minute I met him at the seminar I went to. So far, between the 1000 calorie pre-op diet and the clear liquids, I'm down 22 pounds. My short term goal is another 30 by July 1, and then my goal weight of 128 by my 1-year anniversary next March. I know I can do it!
You look amazing, by the way! Even though we had different surgeries, I can still use you for inspiration. :) BTW, you look so familiar. I'm guessing from your photos that you are a stylist. Where do you work? I can swear I've seen you somewhere, but I just don't know where...
Are you going to be speaking at the Italian Center tomorrow night (Mar. 28)? I am actually going to be at the center for another function, so I thought I might pop into the seminar just to say hi. If you're going to be there, let me know and I'll make sure to find you and say hello.
Keep in touch,
Joanne
