Stupid Dr.
Ok my regular PCP is off today. I had to go see the idiot who is covering for him. I am starting to get Bronchitis (sp?) and I know I'm gonna be a sick puppy in a few days. So I go and try to get some antibiotics. The doc wont give me any since he doesn't think I need them, at least I will get to see me reg doc on Monday when I am half dead. So right before I leave he asks me about my weight. I was like grrrrrrrrrr you are so not my PCP so it's none of you dang business. I did tell him that I had my appointment with Dr. Aranow and will be having surgery. He was like good I think that will be good for you. I was thinking how would you know? Do you know me? WTHeck is wrong with this guy? Anyway needed to vent about a dr. getting into my business when he isn't my doctor.
Oh, that is soooo frustrating, and totally obnoxious of that doctor! I know exactly how you feel because that happened to me once. I went to the doctor for pink eye (of all things, how can that POSSIBLY be related to weight?). My PCP was on vacation so I saw one of the other docs in the group, whom I'd never seen. After diagnosing and prescribing drops for it, he said, "Now, about your weight..." I almost kicked him where it counts! I just looked at him and said, "That's between my regular doctor and me, have a good afternoon." Then I took my scrip and walked out. Just who do these guys think they are anyway?!
Well, he was probably thinking about your well-being, yes, he should have just left it alone and discussed it behind closed doors with your PCP so that your PCP could tell him that the situation is under control.
He also could have looked in your record and read something to that effect.
Unless the bronchitis was weight-related, he overstepped his bounds.
I'd be p!ssed.
