Hi Sheila - love your name, it's my sister's as well! Welcome. I feel your urgency in wanting to move forward, the best advice I can offer to you is relax and breathe! Who is your chosen surgeon and what hospital will you have your surgery? Each surgeon is different so the best way to get your questions answered is to go directly to your surgeon's office - they will know which insurance companies are problematic, and they know the time frame for getting all the requisite tests done. Check in with your surgeon's office first and then let us know how things are progressing for you. Being the inquisitive person that I am, I'd like to know more about you! Share your story, your hopes and dreams, whatever you feel comfortable in sharing. Take care, M.

Hi Sheila, welcome to the CT board. Each doctor has their own requirements. Myself I had appointments with a phsychologist, dietician ( actually 2 appointments over a few months), I had to have clearance form a cardiologist , a pulmonologist and than had a endoscopy done by the surgeon. I had to have physical by my PCP and get a letter from them also, Had to have a list of all the diets I have done and my weights, had blood work done also. I went to classes with a support person and the with dietician, went to introductory seminar my surgeon held for preops and went to a regular support meeting held at my surgeon's hospital. After all the reports were sent in and reviewed by my surgeon Then I had appointment with the surgeon and discussed type of surgery ect and then a date for surgery was set up and that date was about one month after seeing the surgeon. Best of luck on your weight loss journey, be sure you are clear about what you need to do ahead of time to prevent any problems or delays. Your doctors office should be able to give you a list. Sher
