That is the goal I have set for getting everything done for surgery. I don't have any tests to do other than bloodwork and ultrasound for the galbladder. I have to be in the program for 3 months and that would take me to June 20th. I have to get down to 355 but I am trying for 350. I can do this.

YES! YOU CAN DO IT...eat mostly protein and only good carbs (South Beach) and you'll lose a lot of weight. Walk, walk, walk...start slow, then build up longer, but briskly and you'll do great! Get that liver fat down so it doen't flap out like on ole' dorsal fin of a shark onto Dr A's hands! Go to: http://www.southbeach-diet-plan.com/ Do this..it'll stop your craving of carbs, too. Post when you're having a tough day or email me. We can help you get past those hurdles that seem rough. Plug away and be as determined as you can. Look up WLS books on amazon.com and then check them out of your library and read as much as you can on this surgery. There are also recipe cookbooks that you can check out, too...Like, "Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery"...Get ready and focused Paula

You can definitly do this! I have to also do a 3 month program but was determined to get all my test done ASAP like you! I have scheduled everything already and will complete all the tests by April 1st! All I haven't scheduled is the blood work yet which I will get done prior to my next nutrionist visit which is April 14th after work. I will complete the 3month program in Jun15th ( I believe). So we'll be on this together... You're gonna do just great! I've got good feelings about all of this and everyone has been spectacular on here. I haven't been told to lose any weight yet, but have been told not to gain any from here on in. I weighed in at my heaviest at my first visit so was disappointed on that, but want to lose some weight even if I haven't been advised to do so yet. Again WE CAN DO THIS!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

Yes you can do it! It's great that you are setting goals for yourself. Goals help to motivate and provide positive reinforcement when you reach them. Here are a few suggestions to help you get ready by changing a few things now before surgery. Try to cut out all soda, sweets and bad carbs and eat protien first. Drink lots of water. Start putting your food on a dessert plate instead of dinner plate. Use baby utensils, chew, chew, chew your food to a pulp. Stop drinking liquids 30 minutes before a meal and don't drink for about 60 minutes after eating. Try not to snack inbetween meals and get started with some exercise if you haven't already. If I am overwhelming you with suggestions, I am sorry. These suggestions will help get you ready for being a postop WLS patient. Even if you start using just one or two of these things prior to surgery they will help you become a successful WLS patient. PS. Also try and get off caffiene. All my best to you for a successful journey. Sher

I was a semi-busy bee today. I got my psych eval scheduled and the letter from my pcp going. Tomorrow I think the hubby and I are gonna watch the dvd. Should be fun.
