Dr. Aranow patients and hernias BEFORE WLS

Hiya folks....have any of you Dr. Aranow patients had a hernia BEFORE your WLS that needed to be repaired...if so, did Dr. Aranow do it?? Was it during the WLS?? Do you think it would speed up the process of getting into the OR any faster??? Thanks yet again for your expertise!!! You all are great!!

My girlfriend had her surgery with Dr Aranow in January and she had a huge hernia prior to surgery....he didn't repair it, yet. He wants her to lose all of her weight, and then he'll do the repair w/ a tummy tuck later and it'll shave off some of the cost and ins will pay some cause of her having a hernia. Unless your's is out of the ordinary, I'm sure he'll tell you the same thing. As far as getting into surgery any sooner, I don't think so, you've gotta do all of the preliminary stuff like we all did! Paula

I developed a hernia post-WL surgery; it was repaired (by Dr. A) at the same time I had the abdominoplasty and TT done. You really need to focus on getting all the preliminary tests done so that you know you are healthy and ready for this absolutely life-alterning event. Good luck! Maureen

Thanks guys....Oh please make no mistake I am taking all of the support group and psych visits VERY seriously.....I know this is going to change my life forever....and am slowly working my way toward that....It was just a 'one of those questions'....anyway, I had an appt with him in May, but he had a cancellation this afternoon.....so guess where I'm headed..........after a very stressful morning of my 16 year old son having a seizure......(last week he was told by our family physician that he had a stone in his salivary gland.....and by an ear, nose, throat man that he has to have his tonsils out...and since he is 16 by the way it was going to hurt like hell...nice to tell my kid that)....................he does have idiopathic epilepsy...last seizure last fathers day.......so now I have a kid whose tonsils are so swollen that they are touching each other.................he makes his own pearls..............and was flopping around like a fish out of water while he was getting ready for school...............so anyway...... THANKS FOR HELPING ME OUT ONCE AGAIN!!!!
