For those of you who've made reservations to stay at the Crowne Plaza the night of the Spring Gala, I wanted to let you know that I just found out that there's a problem with the pool there. It's currently closed while the problem is being repaired. They expect the repair to take 2 wks., so it should be open again before the 31st, but there's no guarantee. To accomodate their guests in the meantime, the Crowne Plaza has arranged with the Marriott (a couple of blocks down the street) for Crowne Plaza guests to use their pool, and free shuttle service between the 2 hotels is provided. I don't know if this makes a difference to any of you, but I thought that you should know. Debby

Debby (and Denise) can you give us an update on attendance numbers so far? What's our target goal - how many folks do we need to show up in order to make this a successful fundraising event? M.

Hi, Maureen! Since I'm not the only one selling tickets, I don't have an exact number at this point, but, including reservations, we're at an expected attendance of approximately 60 so far. In order to cover our expenses, we need to sell 87 tickets. Anything beyond that, plus the proceeds of the "50-50" raffle which we'll hold at the Gala, will be what we raise for ASBS. If we don't sell at least 87 tickets, hopefully we'll be close enough to that number so that the raffle will cover the shortfall and leave something left over for ASBS. Considering that last year's Gala had an attendance of over 100 and we raised about $1,000 for ASBS, I'm hopeful that there'll be a substantial increase in ticket sales and reservations this week.
