ARM WINGS-PLASTIC SURGEON-2 1/2 YEARS POST OP
No, Rachael, I only have Anthem BCBS - no Medicaid. How did you conclude I have Medicaid from my post? I don't want to mislead you or anyone about this. My reconstruction surgeries were all covered by my insurance BUT I had to provide significant evidence of medical complications and issues resulting from the redundant skin all over my body. My PCP really led the charge on this with many documented office visits and prescribed treatments to address the issues; when the treatments failed to remedy the issues (mostly concerning rashes and resulting infections - I had lots of photos of the rashes), my PCP provided a supporting letter together with my pastic surgeon, to present a strong case for insurance coverage. It was a long, arduous battle - I was denied several times and had to go through several appeals. But we won out in the end. My PS is Jonathan Borkowski in Middletown. Hope this helps. M.
Rachael,
I work for Aetna in Middletown too! I looked you up in e-mail to see if you were in Hartford, Windsor, or here. Congrats on the weight loss and good luck with the PS! I'm having surgery in just 13 days. If you ever want to get together for coffee or lunch, just let me know! My last name is Gootkin - shoot me an e-mail @ work!
Keep us updated on your PS search!

Hey there,
i just had my arms done on 2/27. i was in the hospital for 1 day and only on pain meds for one more day after that. i stayed out of work for about a week and 1/2. but now i am back in the gym (not doing any upper body stuff) and i feel just fine and it hasn't even been 3 weeks yet. i also had a breast lift at the same time. my ins did cover my arms but not the breast lift. i have used dr. borkowski in the past like maureen did and i loved him but this time i went with dr castiglione out of hartford and he was great too!!!!!!! any questions feel free to email.
