Gala's Not Just for Post-Ops

Hi, All! Since mostly post-ops have purchased tickets so far, I thought I'd clarify that our 3rd annual Spring Gala -- a fundraiser for ASBS (American Society for Bariatric Surgery) -- is for pre-ops, post-ops, friends and family...anyone who wants to have a fun evening. People from all over the state will be attending...patients of a variety of doctors...members of this board as well as people who've never heard of OH.com. There'll be a DJ, cash bar and hot and cold hors d'oeuvres (with an emphasis on protein). It's Sat., Mar. 31st, from 7 to midnight...3 wks. from tonight...at the Crowne Plaza in Cromwell (just seconds from exit 21 off I-91). The tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at the Hamden or Middlesex support group meetings, at Dr. Aranow's office or by sending me a check (e-mail me for my address and I'll mail back your tickets). Last year we had a problem with people saying that they'd get tickets at the door who then didn't show up. That leads to losing money, so this year we are being more insistent about getting your tickets in advance. Also, we have to give a final head count to the hotel by Mar. 27th, so that leaves just a little over 2 wks. for you to get your tickets. So don't miss out. This is a wonderful way to celebrate how far you've come by doing things you couldn't do (or do as well) as a pre-op, in the company of friends you may only see once or twice a year. And for pre-ops, it's an opportunity to meet others who are (or recently were) where you are now. As close as we may feel to each other via this board, nothing compares to getting together in person. Hey Debby, I hope you wont turn people away who come and want to buy at the door, there are alot of people who still want to come and cant get tickets though you or the meetings. I really think you should have some available at the door for the individuals that have difficulty getting them right now. This really is not fair to the ones who want to come but are on budgets and have to wait to buy tickets.

yea,that is most definetely me,and my hubby,,we were planning on getting them at door,,can we????
