Im freaking out just a tad. I was losing about a pound a day for the first 2 weeks and as of last week I am down 18 pounds since I walked into the OR and then I stalled. Is this normal? I know there has to be a lot of water weight at first but it is so hard to see that scale stop when you are hardly putting anything in your mouth. I am getting in all my protein and fluids and am able to drink a good 16 ounces in 30-45 minutes so now I'm freaking out that Ive stretched my pouch already and thats why Im not losing. I know this is all a little irrational but difficult non the less. This is so emotional. I am happy to be feeling like myself again but have also been really grouchy about not eating. My husband says I should look on the bright side (as he eats another girl scout cookie) and I know it'll pay off but I say that doesnt change the "sucking of the now" as I put it. I remembered back to my days on Atkins and I was always a bear so I think that no carb thing is playing into it too. Oh well - I see the doctor for my first post-op tomorrow so maybe that will make me feel better, or worse depending on what he says. Thanks in advance for all your help and support.

Hey Michelle, I stalled at about 1 month out, and a few times since then. It does play games with your head but in the end you will start losing again. I've gone 3 weeks without losing and then all of a sudden the scale starts moving! It does make you feel kind of nuts when you start thinking about how much food your eating but your not losing.... Good luck, Minette

michelle, you will stall occassionally, it is normal. What I learned is that everytime I stalled, my body was reshaping...you will suddenly have people asking you if you lost more weight , just when you are at your wits end related to your stall! Be patient, you will not stretch out your pouch....you will vomit first (((trust me !!!))) You are at the beginning of a wonderfully frustrating journey that will all be well worth it in the end. Hang in there and enjoy the ride...you will drop again soon...remember don't live by the scale, think about how you feel, and look at how your clothes fit...that will keep you going..good luck !! Yes this is normal. Just think, your body has been through alot in the past several weeks. When have you ever lost 18 lbs in two weeks before now? Your body is adjusting to the changes and things will start moving again very soon. Just keep following your doctors plan. Before you know it you will be having alot more food options available to you as your doctor progresses your diet plan. Have you taken your measurements? If not take them and recheck them periodically, especially when you have a stall. You will most likely see a loss of inches even if you haven't had any weight loss. That is an important measurement, like the scale to follow your progression on this journey. Hang in there, things will get easier and you will soon become aware of the many positive changes in your life that will take place. This is journey worth taking. Sher

Thanks so much....I cant say how good it feels to see replies and get that reinforcement from people who have been there. Even when you know the truth - to have someonel else say it means everything. I swear I am sitting here crying like an idiot - for the millionth time in the last 2 weeks. Best Wishes to everyone out there who takes the time to support and care.
