Need encouragement..advise or something?
Dear Liz, you are being too hard on yourself. You have done great, 40 lbs in two months is fantastic. Try not to compare your weight loss with others. we all lose at different rates. The end result is what is important. I would stay away from the caffiene as this can cause a diuretic effect and your body won't get the neccesary water it needs to flush out waste products. As for being hungry, try and distract yourself with another activity or drink a glass of water and wait before eating. If you then still want to have something to eat, pick out a low fat protien food. I find that having a slice or two of turkey breast and slice of lowfat cheese fills me up and satisfys my hunger. Nuts can have a high fat content so be carefull on how many you have at a time.
You are doing great, please don't be discouraged. Our weight loss will periodically slow down or temporarily stop. As long as you continue using your tool and eating and drinking and exercising like you should things will start up again and you will see the scale move. Also take your measurements once a month, you will see a loss of inches sometimes when you don't see a change on the scale and this will show you that you are progressing right along.
Liz- 40 lbs is alot of weight!!! You could have never lost that much before your surgery right? Think of it like that... and the thing about people not noticing, I understand where you are coming from, but you have to think that you had your surgery for you... not for them. I was at the same weight as you were 2 months out. Ive now lost 111 lbs in 6.5 months. I went through periods of losing alot of weight a week to losing none, just staying the same for about a week or 2. You gotta keep it up! Add in a little cardio everyday to get your heart rate up, and Im no doctor, but I would definatly stay away from caffiene. For every few ounces of a caffenated beverage you drink, you basically cancel out the hydrating water and other liquids in your system.
REMEMBER YOU LOST 40 LBS!!! ITS AN AMAZING THING!!! FEEL GOOD!!!
Gimme an L ... gimme an I .. gimme a Z!!
First, you've had the guts to go thru major surgery and begin a completely new lifestyle!
Second, you've lost 40 pounds! And in 2 months!
Third, you know the answers. You know what you need to do. And you're doing it, most of the time. Take a bow, girl!
Don't be so hard on yourself. There are plenty of people out there who will do that for you. Be gentle with yourself, keep up the great work ..
