I can so relate, because I have a partner who is not 100% for this. He says he is afraid for me, and that I might think it is a quick fix. This, from a man who is 6 foot and has never tipped the scales at over 155 in his life! And he eats like a... ok, nuff of that. What matters to me is that he be there for me, whether he agrees that it's what's right for me or not. Somebody once told me "support is what girlfriends are for, lady" and I suppose that's right, in a sense. But some harmony at home is essential when you're recovering and learning a whole new lifestyle! I think that might be part of what your strong desire for Ohio and family indicates ... Sounds like he might feel a little threatened by it all, too. I agree with Tammy that there certainly are aspects that you have to work out between you two, even if it's to agree to disagree. He needs to know you are doing this for you, for your health, and for your future together. Hey, if all else fails, he will definitely appreciate a bedmate who is more limber and energetic, right ladies? Keep moving forward, find support where you can get it and keep your eye on your goals. Chin up, kiddo, we are all here for you... keep us posted!
