Pre-op diet
Dr. Nadzam tried to operate on me this month and was unable to to put the band in me due to a fatty liver. He had me on a liquid diet for about 2 months prior. I lost some weight, but not enough. I was able to reduce my weight from 429 lbs to to 408. He has switched me to a solid protein diet ketotic diet . I eat meat, chicken or fish or soy proteins as well veggies and salad. Anyone else in the same boat?
I did an all protein diet to lose my pre op weight and once I got past the first week or so, I lost all cravings for carbs and did very well...I lost 18 lbs.
Just plug away and stay strong. Get the junk out of the house and eat all kinds of protein, shrimp, fish, meat, etc...Veggies at night for the "crunch" factor. I lived on raw colored peppers for the crunch factor...Mute and close your eyes when food commercials come on...they're the worst!
I know exercise can be hard for you right now, but even walking in place for as long as you can and then take a rest and do some more to get up to at least 15 min a day is something. It'll get the weight off also and get that fatty liver down. Get that heart rate up a bit.
Good Luck!

Thanks so much Paula for your support Paula. I have been on that liquid diet I was on for awhile did not work. My appetite for solids now is very poor. At least I am eating eggs and nibbling on a few raw veggies here and there. I assume it will improve. My doc wants me to lose about 30-40 lbs to shrink my liver. He said it should happen very rapidly. Funny, liver is a favorite meat of mine and now I can't stomach the idea of eating it.!
