Hi Laura, The support group schedule that I was given in Feb. is as follows: 2nd Monday-Pre and Post Op Patients 4th Monday-same 5th Monday-same (if there is a 5th Monday) All of these are from 6:30-7:30 in the North One conference room at Middlesex. There are others but these are the only that apply to Pre-op. Also the next two mandatory meetings with the psych. and nut are on March 5th and then April 2nd. I'm not sure if you can go to this prior to the Orientation Seminar but I guess you could call. On another note, our stories sound similiar. I am 38 and my mom put me on Weigh****chers when I was like 10. For some reason, I kept all of my books so I have that info. As for the surgery choice, the seminar will help out a lot. Other than that, I think you just have to go with your gut. Good luck, Jen

Hi Laura, Yes, I believe so...although I haven't been yet because the last one was the day before my orientation meeting. When I get home, I'll look on the flyer. jen

Laura - some depends on your Insurance company- and what they want- I had everything done and in within 6 weeks of my initial appointment with Dr Aranow- but the Insurance company wanted three months of pre op preperation, so that meant an extra six weeks of time biding. I went to an August 2005 meeting, saw him September 9th 2005, and was in the OR on December 28th 2005. They never told me to count backwards either- they said "We're giving you a little something to make you sleepy" I said "Versed?" they said "yes" I said "That's goooooooooo............................." Next thing I know I am in my room.......LMAO It's worth the wait my dear today I hit a new milestone and weighted in under 170- 169 on the button, that would be 142 pounds down from the highest weight I was, or 129 down from my first visit with Dr Aranow.

Its been nearly 2 years now and I am well under the doctors goal weight of 178, actually I am around 146ish and hoping to lose a few more. Good Luck Hugs Heidi
