Question for Band patients
First I want to thank those of you *****plied to me and made me feel so welcome! This level of support is amazing to me!
Second, I want to ask what my kids would call a "noob" question. When you get the port put under your skin for fills, is it in a somewhat standard position? Where? Does it vary by doctor, patient, body type?
Thanks in advance for you patients and support. You are all living inspirations!
Hi Janet,
I have learned by reading the Lap Band board that it does vary by doctor. I would have thought they were always put in the same place but in reading people's posts, I have found they are placed differently. Mine is on the right side of my body about 3 or 4 inches below my breasts. It seems to be shifting a litttle as the weight comes off but that may be in my head! It is pretty much in the same place. You can feel it if you press on your stomach but otherwise I forget it is there (unless I lean too hard on it!).

Hi Janet -
My port is on the left about 4 inches above my belly botton and 4 inches to the left of it - it's in the front - I can feel it if I press but it's not painful - it is sore for a couple weeks after surgery but not a big issue.
Don't worry It's not a noob question (whatever that is)!
Best of luck to you!
Tammy
