one week post op
Hello, it all depends on how much your starting weight was. My surgeon said most people with lose about 10% of their body weight within the first 2 weeks. I lost 22 pounds in 2 weeks. I don't think you should be worried, but calculate your percentage lost. Your weight loss will slow down alittle bit too.
welcome to the club!
i'm almost 3 years out but i remember that feeling of oh my god i've lost 25 pounds in 2 weeks when i've never been able to lose 10 pounds in a year! believe what they tell you that the first 2 weeks you lose alot you might even level off in a month and not lose for a few weeks. you might lose just a couple of pounds a week for a while too. everyone is different and its the name of the game. if your very worried call your doc they can reasure you too. your nutritiionist (?) can go over what your having for meals too.
good luck and god bless, pam
Hi Dena,
Dr Aranow would tell you to get your heart rate up to kick your body's metabolic rate and get it into fat burning mode...He told me that and it worked.
Step up your exercise (cardio) and you'll see a bigger loss.
I think that this is a great loss so far. Remember, your body is confused right now trying to figure out what you've done to it. You're still recovering from MAJOR surgery, too. You had a lot of fluids pumped into you, too. Your hormones are going crazy, also.
Make sure you're drinking a lot of calorie free liquids, and are getting in ALL or more of your protein. This will kick it up a notch, too.
Don't worry, you'll lose. It'll all come off all of a sudden, and then taper off one week or so..don't worry.. I found that around that time of the month, I didn't lose at all or a lot less.
