Lapband surgery unsuccessful
On February 6th Dr. Nadzam tried to install my lapband and couldn't because of an enlarged liver. I woke up in the recovery room and saw the sad look on his face and I knew immediately. He did do a liver biopsy and we are still waiting for the results. I am shocked and devasted not to mention very sad. How do I cope?
I'm sorry that you are sad and this happened to you. I'll keep you in my thoughts and pray that it will all work out for you. As for coping...I'm not sure how I would cope with something like this. Just keep positive thoughts and remember that when it is your time everythibg will work out just fine.
Best of luck!
Christine

HI
How do you cope? well just pray as I will for you. It is best that they found this problem when they did, and if they found it after, there might have been set backs with the surgery etc.
I had to stay in the hospital for 5 days then was home for 5 then went back in because of infection on my incision.
Did you get the results yet?
Good luck and keep your chin up, please keep me posted, and if there is anything I can do, let me know
Excuse me for being frank, but it's just my way. Your BMI is putting you in the super morbidly obese range. I would expect your liver to be enlarged - from your obesity. DId Dr Nadzam have you on a ketotic diet to help reduce your liver mass pre-op?
Also- have you thought about a RNY versus a lap band?? Maybe now is the time to re-evaluate that option.
Good luck- and don't let this sabotage your goals of weight loss and a healthier life.
