Kinda Bummed
I just found out that my surgery date is being moved from April 4th to possibly April 25th or even May 5th. Just want to get my new life started ASAP.
I wanted to thank all of you too. I love reading all of the messages on the board. It has been a great help for me. It is nice to see what you are eating after 6 months post op, and the excercise examples are good too. I am planning to start a famliy swim night where My 5 y/o son, wife and I can go once a week to the local high school for an evening swim. Any other good ideas out there to include the family in regular excercise?
Also I am still looking for a support group in the Hartford Area, preferably East of the River. Any Ideas?
Thanx Again,
Dan
Barba's meetings seem to be getting better, there is a point person scheduling topics and its not a free for all like it has been, especially directly following your surgery, in the event that you have specific questions. It might be worth it to attend, at least monthly. I know it might be a hall, but I went to Middletown meeting at Middlesex, third Monday, and it was a great meeting. I plan to try to attend both. The one every third Monday is a post op, but they have a meeting every Monday. Best of luck to you on your surgery, you will be amazed at how different your life can truely be, especially with your son. My favorite comment from my 5 year old now is..."Ya know, my mom used to be fat". It kills me every time he says it.
