Can you help me???
Hello everyone,
I have been off the boards for at least a year now, but I'm back on. My weight loss has slowed and I'm falling back into old habits. Some days I feel like I'm eating everything in sight and on other days I don't eat much at all- is this normal? I get scared when I see other postings of what people are eating. I can eat an entire bagel- although it does take a good 1/2 hour; which is another thing I need to get a hold of.
I am going to go back to the basics- start from the begining. I pray I haven't stretched my pouch.
Does anyone have any advice for me?
June 2005
starting weight: 296lbs.
current weight: 190lbs.
Thanks
~Robin
hi Robin...
I do have some advise for you...Go to support group meetings..I only make it to one per month, but even that helps a lot. I am having some of the same issues as you, and find that as far as some foods are concerned i just need to stay away, I can eat a lot more food now that I could at the beginning, and certain foods are definitely trigger foods for me (like bagels!!)...So I stay away from those as much as I can,....Remember to concentrate on getting in enough protein. PROTEIN FIRST!
Also, my all-tme favorite "helper" in weightloss is...Exersize!!!!
I walk every day, and have started running a little as well...If you are interested, PM me, we could maybe get together to exersize, walk, run, whatever....
This is not as easy now as it was in the beginning, but WE CAN DO IT!!!!
Hang in there and come to a support group meeting this month...Tomorrow is pre-op only, but the second monday of the month is both pre and post op..I usually go to those.
Hope to see you there
Dorota
Hey Robin,
Since you and Dorota live same town, it will be great for you to have a buddy support from someone like Dorota who live same town. I have two wonderful buddies who live same town , Terri and Nancy K who live same town with me. I cannot live without their supports. I hate to say this but EXERICISE is the key to keep your shape up and eat right foods too. It is not too late to go back on the right track to use your tool. Go email or call Dorota for support. She is a wonderful and great lady!
You did the right thing to ask for help by typing here. It is good start! You can do it!

Robin, you are doing the right thing by asking for help. Starting back to basics is a good way to start. Follow those rules, keep checking in on the message boards for info and support and follow up with your doctor if you haven't already. You should be seeing him once a year and start attending support group meetings.
You can be successful, hang in there.
