Bette's St. Baldrick's Day Event

I encourage everyone to go over to the Lap Band msg board, and support Bette Blackwell! () What a fabulous person she is. I have already made my donation in my mothers memory. Most of you know I lost my mother not too long ago at a very very young age due to cancer she was only diagnosed with 3 mos prior. As a mother myself, I am honored to be able to be a part of something like this. I am truely lucky and blessed to have healthy children and some of us unfortunately are not so lucky. I hope you will all try to do a little something for those kids. And hoooray to Bette to do something like this. She is absolutely one of a kind ! Thanks to all and it is soooo worth a look! Bree

I remember when my Dad was going for chemo, we talked about if he should just shave his beautiful curls off instead of having them fall out. He opted to just leave them and see what happens. He ended up dying only a short time into the chemo so his hair never did fall out. He had the most beautiful soft curls - I remember just sticking my fingers deep into his hair when we used to ride in the car when I was a child (before car seats and seat belts) I used to sit behind him and play with his curls.........Cancer is horrible. Chemo is a horrible thing for anyone to go through - I can't imagine the horror it is for the child or the parents to watch their children's beautiful hair falling out. Bette is an extraordinary woman to stand up and willing shaver her head for this cause - I hope all of us in CT will show up on her list of supporters!
