Hello everyone....Happy Saturday! I am posting to get some good suggestions. I am almost 7 weeks post LapBand (11/28). I am eating well have only had 2 or 3 PB's (my fault needed to gulp down to yell at my 3 year old!) but since the earlier days I have been good. So....eating full diet, sometimes hungry feeling the need to "crunch" on something so I go for a small salad no dressing, cucmbers cut up. I can NOT tell you the last time I had "Junk" food I seriously am NOT cheating. I am eating between 800-1000 cal/day.....35-40g fat.....100-300 g carbs (I have be journaling my food on another site) Exercising 4-6days per week TM 30 min, bike 15min. I walked my neighborhood w/ pedometer yest for a total of 3.5 miles (kinda fast I was sweaty) wore the pedometer all day because someone said 13,000 steps was good for someone trying to lose weight. (I did 15,476....including my walk) I am able to drink about 75-100 oz of water/day I have lost NO WEIGHT since my 2 week pre op visit. 16lbs TOTAL since pre op diet in all! WHAT THE?!?! I really feel I am putting my all into this and NOT getting results....not even a squeek! Can anyone see what I am doing wrong? Or something I could do better? I am defated and angry! and before you ask I have not been able to get to see our friend Nancy M (Nutrition) I KNOW THIS SOUNDS LIKE AN EXCUSE BUT....My husband is in the Ct Army Nat Gaurd and is away in Texas training for this month so I don't have anyone to keep an eye on my 3 yr old......SHE WOULD NEVER SIT THROUGH THIS APPOINTMENT! I AM CRAZED Thank You Kate

I don't have any advice as it sounds like you are doing everything right. Maybe you should post this on the Band forum. Good luck

Does your nutritionist have a email address that you could contact them there? What about a phone appointment? Its so hard when you are the main care giver without anyone to help you with that. You need some You time. I remember what it was like when I had little ones. Yikes! YOur doing a good thing for you with this weight loss. I had a friend who had the lap band and had the same thing happen. It can happen with us too who had the RNY. I went for several weeks without losing a pound after eating less than 1000 calories! When I did lose it was a big amount. It seemed like over night I dropped 20 pounds. Don't be discouraged it will go as long as you continue doing the good things you are doing. Its easy to say don't get discouraged but its alittle bit better to hear it from someone who has been there done that. Good luck and god bless, pammy

Hi Kate - If I understand everything you've written you have lost 16 pounds in 7 weeks which equals a little over 2 pounds per week average but you haven't lost anything in several weeks? You sound like you are doing everything perfectly to me. One thing that was really, really hard for me was the slope of losing - I'd get used to stepping on the scale and seeing a loss every week and then all of the sudden nothing - it was very, very frustrating. The loss is not a steady slope down - it is like a set of stairs - not a steady slant so it all averages out. Average is the important word - you can lose 4 pounds in one week and then nothing for 3 which would average one pound a week. The band is supposed to be a 1 to 2 pound a week average loss - some people can drop 5 pounds in one week, nothing the next so that would be 2.5 average. I myself am completely stalled for way too long but it's entirely my fault. When I was on the "bandwagon" I would lose like 3 or 4 pounds one week and nothing for a week or two - or just lose like 1/2 a pound - you're so newly out that you aren't even benefitting from the band yet - you aren't even at your sweet spot. The real benefits of the band aren't supposed to kick in until you get the right restriction so be gentle on yourself - this isn't a race - it's a life long journey. But all that being said, if you're concerned it's always good to check in with your doctor and like someone else mentioned, posting on the lap band forum is very helpful too for thoughts and suggestions. There are only a handful of us "bandsters" here. Best of luck to you - try to not be - it's all good stuff -you're on your way to winning the battle!! You are doing fantastic - keep up the great work!!! It will all fall into place. Best Regards, Tammy
