digestion question
has anyone experienced any problems with digesting rice, brocolli? i find it very difficult to digest these main two things they seem to take a long time disolving, i always have to up chuck in order to feel better, i get this watery sensation in my mouth and there i go straight to the bathroom, yuck i just can't seem to pull away from these types of foods does anyone have any suggestions? you would think that being out of the surgery going on 2yrs things would've changed by now but i guess not. is anyone having of the smae problems with any other foods or the same? i guess that i probably either have to give them up or blend them up in the blender
Hi Lydia,
Rice and broccoli are the two foods that are NOT my friends since surgery. They both cause a lot of pain and gas and bloating. I just avoid them at all costs...
They're not worth it to me anymore...even though I used to love both of them a lot, especially the broccoli...(raw sometimes doesn't bother me as much)

You might want to consider why you "can't seem to pull away from these types of foods". First, it is possible that the broccoli is too dense and you are not mashing it to death in your mouth before ingesting it. Secondly, it is possible that your pouch is relatively slow to empty so the rice is going to absorb any liquids that are there, swell and cause your discomfort. Thirdly, it is possible that your helpings are too large for your capacity and these particuarly dense foods are giving you the most grief.
It is also entirely possible that you have a couple of foods that just disagree with you no matter what you do (many of us have a few of those)-- the best thing to do is try to avoid them.
I hadn't answered this question earllier becaues I've never had a problem with either of those foods.
wellll until last night!
I made chicken on the george forman god I love that little thing, and boiled up some rice, and had some green beans too. this is a meal I've made many times its one of my favorites.
i guess i didn't boil the rice long enough it wasn't hard but it wasn't its usual mushiness. i didtn' even eat two tablespoons before i could start to feel the bloat. i stopped eating it but felt like i was all swollen up from the rice. couldn't finish my chicken.
don't know if it was because of it not being mushier or what.
good luck and god bless, pammy
