Is it possible to lose weight after 2 yrs? Not a simple questions.. meaning... not a yes or no question. I see your doctor is identified as Dr. Tran. Correct me of I am wrong...I do believe he is no longer doing the procedure he originally did on you. If I am not correct, ignore #2 below. So here are my suggestions and comments. 1. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. 2. Consult with a new surgeon for followup. It is important for the long haul and if you ever have any medical issues you will be in the loop of a bariatric surgeon who can attend. I would recommend my surgeon, Dr. Neil Floch in Norwalk. 3. Once you are part of WLS aftercare... you then have the following available to you: Support groups, psychologists, nutritionists. These are all important aftercare support team members for long-term success in my book. 4. Consult with a nutritionist who is well versed in post op bariatric eating needs, food plans and supplemental requirements. I suggest Nancy Murphy in Fairfield. I can send you her contact info. She is top of her field. 5. Consult with a psychologist who is also well versed in eating issues. In my (not so humble opinion) we all have eating issues if we become morbidly obese. And it is my experience that said issues do not leave our bodies upon having surgery. It takes work and effort (all very doable) to relearn new ways of thinking and behaving. Mary Ziller is also top of her field, as well as Anne Mata. 6. Exercise is prime for us... not only for the "calories in/calories out" stuff, but for stress management. For me... the less stressed I have, the less I want to eat emotionally. 7. REMEMBER... ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. 8. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. I say this repeatedly, so you BELIEVE that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. Refocusing is not always easy.. but doable. 9. The CT FORUM is an AWESOME place to come and share. I have found the people to be non judgmental, yet honest and forthright. We are a family of sorts. Do you agree with me folks? 10. One last thing... I am 2.5 yrs out and still losing... very slowly.. but the possibility is there with effort. Good luck, Lydia... STAY PROACTIVE... it will pay off.
