the hang

hey guys my wonderful husband bought me a gift cert for victorias secret,,,,,,,, never did figure out what the secret was,,,,,,,,,,, so i figured would go and see what i could find well when i looked up and saw the mirror,,,,god i was appaled, the last ten has made the hang horrible, trying to put it into nice underwear was a joke, do any of the ladies here have a suggestion? i did find one set i liked and bought some lotions, but all that skin, too bad when they take it off they cant use it for a burn center or something, also how far out do you have to be to see someone for skin reduction lol oh well ,,,, at least the support groups warned me and i am so glad they did otherwise i think it would have been worse. it still isnt as bad as my last straw when i decided to have the surgery, it was just surprising it is also funny when i walk on the treadmill or run at work, the slapping sound that is made is too funny i guess i am just grousing tonight, funny i never went thru the stuff some go thru, the why the hell did i do this or the depression over the food, i did go thru a cooking spree for the holidays and when i was asked why i was cooking so much i always replied that i was in mourning for my best friend, that the wake was christmas and the funeral would be new years day funny thing is once christmas came i stopped baking and havent done it again, the other thing i did was throw out or give away all the "bad" stuff in the house, back to the original problem, does anyone have any suggestions on what to do until enough time has passed for the abdominoplasty can be done? and what do you do about arms and legs? they are sagging to my knees it feels like, done with my grousing ,,,sorry guys i was just upset today, i do go to the meetings pretty regularly , was there last night, but like i said was a surprise thanks

Hey Rae, as far as I know most surgeons want you to wait till youare at goal before doing the tummy tuck. Call Lois and ask her she'd be the one to give you the correct answer. Oh and Victorias secret is that Victoria is actially Victor!!!

many of us wear supportive undergarments that reign in the loose hanging skin- plastic surgery is not an option for everybody given the cost. Personally I am hoping for a TT soon- got hung up over the recent appendicitis crisis I had- and used up a whole week of PTO time from work - so now I need to build it up again....how far out are you? how much have you lost? I don't get to group much anymore thanks to my work schedule- I do oncall in the evenings

Hi, I know that Dr Aranow has said that he likes his patients to wait until 18 mos out from surgery before thinking about any PS. He'd like you to be at goal and stabilized for a while so that you won't lose or gain after a tummy tuck and cause pulling and/or sagging (from gain) When was your surgery? I'm kind of lucky (I guess), I lost 130 and have little to no stomach hang. I know he said that for most insurances to cover a TT, your panni (loose skin) has to hang at least to your pubic bone. Unfortunately, I don't hang that low... If I'm in dressy clothes, I wear a panti/leg slimmer shaper for undergarmets...It helps to suck it all in! As for the "secret" I think it's what's hiding beyond the lace and silk! (whatever that may be!...loose skin, etc..) My next door neighbor used to be a model for Victoria Secret in NYC. She worked in the design division and modeled all of the future lingerie and clothes to 'fit' them properly. Good luck.. Paula

thanks for the replies, was just kind of down about it last night my surgery was june 19 2006 so i am a little over 6 months out i have lost 93 since the surgery and another 30 before, so the total in the year has been 123, but i am also 52 so that will make a difference, the hang is below the pubic bone but in clothing not too bad, its not just the belly it seems like this week it is everywhere, and i guess i wasnt ready for the reality check i saw yesterday my husband on the other hand says it doesnt matter to him, so what a lucky person i am there, of course he said he never thought i was fat either, he just never noticed up til the last 40 pounds how large i was,,,,,,,oh well, thanks for the advice,,, hope everyone had a sparkling day rae
