UGGGH another CAT scan with Contrast...

on my way to get another CT scan (this time with contrast) as Dr Aranow finally managed to get the CT Scan I had done at Marlborough the other night to download for him, and he said "it's definitely not a normal CT Scan" thinking either diverticulosis, or possibly even the begins of appendicitis- he mashed my belly forever and doesn't think there is a hernia. He is concerned about the fevers I am running- I am spiking in the evening up to 102- and then waking up drenched in a cold sweat. SO another few days out of work and resting and trying to feel better- joy oh joy- hey on the upside I have kick started my post new years weight loss........I lost 4 pounds since Tuesday.....

well the results look like appendicitis- but it's not very clear- going on the WEB MD site I have all the symptoms of appendicitis (early ones- obviously not acute) I could be having an appendectomy soon.....will update later.

talked to Dr Aranow's covering- Dr Coatti this mornign - he is (at my behest) ordering another CBC and electrolyte panel to see if the bloodwork has changed to be anymore consistent with appendicitis. I am tired, irritable (more than usual) have no desire to eat or drink, woke up in a cold drenched sweat again at 3 am...something is not right and somebody needs to fix it. DAMMIT!!! I have kids, a job- and four litters of kittens to worry about-no time for illness.

I am so sorry you are not feeling well...I know what you mean about not having time to be ill...no kidding, with your plate so full...hang in there...... Would love to meet up with you when you feel better......maybe for coffee?

Hey Mom, don't mean to scare you but those were my sx with my liver abcesses. And the nite sweats almost always go with them. I had diffuce belly pain sometimes more so upper right quad. Just make sure all the bases are covered. I spent more than a week and 4 trips to MD and 3 trips to Middlesex or Shoreline Er before finally being admitted on the fourth trip. I didn't speak up. so make sure you are heard loud and clear. Once given IV's and pain med I would do well for a day. My albumin was so low when finally admitted Dr A talked about putting in a g-tube. Speak Up and take care of yourself. Linnie My dx was made with U/s .Linnie
