Now this is interesting! On a couple of levels... 1. Is this not why you lost the weight? To live your life to the fullest? So... NO.. YOU ARE NOT NUTZ! 2. From a metaphysical point of view... A thought occured to me the other day... "Maybe I should go back to school and learn something new... something that will fill me up other than just going to work day in and day out to a job that stresses me out and is a toxic place to work." So then I mentioned it last night at support group... and then I see your message here today. So what am I getting at here? Put it out into the universe and like-messages... will appear. Some may think I am stretching this a bit... But I believe that what we think and say we attract... Oh yes... that's it... "The Universal Law of Attraction".... and Mindful Intention. Good for you Tammy! Your taking the leap, gives me a feeling that perhaps I could do something too! Collective energy at work. T.

T - Now that you put it out there I will be your cheerleader for you to go for it!! I go to an online university called Capella - maybe we can take a class together!! Or I can definitely help you navigate if you need help. Also, my husband just started going back to school at Charter Oak University which can be mostly online - they are located here in CT.... they will take work experience for credits also if you do a portfolio - There are many options other then the brick and mortar...... I know the feeling of the toxic workplace - trust me!! I've been working at an aerospace division of UTC for 19 years now and I really don't care too much about aerospace....but the pay is decent, the benefits are decent (especially educational assistance - they are the best in the world actually), I'm up to 4 weeks of vacation now, etc. etc. etc. - it's not enough though - I need to have a plan, need to learn and expand (mentally and spiritually - not physically - ). I now plan to retire early from UTC when I'm done with my PhD and ultimately teach at a state college - I LOVE to teach and am meant to be a teacher - I actually have gotten naturally high after teaching courses for the continuing education department at the community college (word, excel, powerpoint, access) - I really, really loved the ability to help people expand and learn - I knew I was in my zone when I stepped infront of the class.... but meanwhile I've been squandering my time away working as a process consultant - I mean some things I do are very, very rewarding - but it's not what I'm meant to be doing, (well it is in some way because we can get into the whole - if we weren't meant to be doing it - we wouldn't be doing it discussion - but that's another topic right??) - Anyway - let me be your inspiration for education - you certainly are mine for weight loss!! Go for it, Go for it, Go for it!!!! Tammy

Good for you Tammy There is such thing as too much education. I'm trying to get motivated to go back to school(after 17 years). Throw some motivation this way. Good luck!! Linnie

Okay Linnie - Motivation is being thrown your way - It's time to go back and flex those mental muscles - you're never too old to learn new things - learning is what keeps our minds active - I was able to find the time to go back to school by simply giving up television! Television was robbing me of hours and hours of time. I do enjoy a little down time infront of the tube - but I was spending approximately 2 hours per day M-F and up to 5 hours each weekend with came to at least 10 hours a week in front of the tv!! One class per week is about 10 hours - it was a no brainer!! Try just one class - if you hate it or it stresses you too much - don't take any more or find a topic that really holds your interest - it is stressful - but it's a good stress, a mind expanding stress and it's such a good feeling when you're done!! How's that for motivation?? Just like I said to Towanda - if you are remotely interested - I say GO FOR IT!! If I can do it, you can too!! I work full time and have a 4 year old - I go to school after he goes to bed and night or during lunch at work........... Now I just have to find the time for exercising - I guess it comes down to what is ultimately important gets done. Tammy P.S. - I think you meant to say there is NO such thing as too much education - right?

YES!!! You go girl!!! I kind of knew you would do it when we were talking that night at the big "club" we were at. You said I could be a Dr someday, and I knew you would do it. You talked about it so passionately. Much respect and admiration to you Tammy. I know you can do it! Bree

That's awesome, Tammy! I have ALWAYS been interested in psychology. As a matter of fact, when I was taking an abnormal psych class in college, I diagnosed myself with schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder. But, I was wrong...it was just depression. Good luck!!! Michelle
