Thanks for the support!
Thanks, people! I have been seeing an endocrinologist, that's who put me on the Jenuvia a month ago. My fasting BS was 111 this AM (on 1/1...LOL) so I think I'll give the dieting one more week. If they stay like this, I'll be content. Unfortunately, I had a reading once before of 113 for one day, then back up to 135-150 again, but we'll see. Maybe this time will be different and the numbers will stick. As for the Lantus and Byetta, I think I'll ask the endo doc about that if things haven't settled down in a week. Sounds like what I might need. I'm not a fan of shots, but this is a serious issue and I don't want to play around. Besides, it would probably only be until I can have the by-pass anyway. I'm also going to check out the glycemic index book that was suggested. I purchased the "WEIGH2WIN" video because it has chair exercises for pre-ops like me, but it hasn't arrived yet. On the bright side, not only did I have a lower fasting blood level this AM, but I also did my weekly weigh-in and, though my goal was simply not to gain weight over the Christmas holiday, I actually lost 1.5 LBS! Also, (KARMA?) when I woke this morning, on the floor next to my bed was an old fortune cookie strip I had saved that reads "The most important relationship in your life is with yourself". To top it all off, I got all of your great responses to my plea for help. THANK YOU ALL! YOU'RE WONDERFUL PEOPLE AND I REALLY APPRECIATE YOU TAKING THE TIME AND EFFORT TO REACH OUT TO ME!
Have a safe, healthy and blessed New Year!
